Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 10, 2026
1. What We Collect
Nothing. There are no accounts, no sign-in, and no database. We do not ask for your name or email, and we do not run analytics or tracking cookies.
2. What Stays On Your Device
Your highlights and display settings (theme, typeface, text size, column width, accent colour) are saved in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device and are never sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes them.
3. Sharing a Passage
When you share a highlight, the quoted passage is encoded into the link itself. Nothing is stored on our side — whoever opens the link simply gets scrolled to that passage. Where you send that link is up to you.
4. Search
Search runs against a static index in your browser. If semantic search is enabled for a given deployment, your query text — and nothing else — is sent to OpenAI to be converted into a vector for matching. Queries are not logged or retained.
5. Third-Party Services
The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server request logs. No other third-party service receives your data.
6. Changes
We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be noted by updating the date above.
